Factions - What it is and how to use it

The server is protected by a plugin called 'Factions'. This allows you to build guilds, take land, and protects you from griefers.

I didn't write this but i found it super handy which explains factions and how to use it:

    Basics of Minecraft Factions!

There's a lot you can do with them and they can be a lot of fun, but if you don't understand the basics they can be a bit of a pain. So read closely and take notes, this info is what you'll need to survive!

First of all, when you join the server you should start out by either joining an existing faction or by creating your own. Once you are in a faction, you can protect yourself from griefers and people looking to take your belongings. This is because, each faction has a certain amount of "land", "power", and "max-power."
First of all, "land" is how much territory your faction can claim. Land is claimed in 16x16 chunks that include everything from bedrock to the ceiling. Territory that has been claimed cannot be destroyed or built on and chests, ovens, crafting tables and doors cannot be used unless you are a member of that faction. So by inviting someone to your faction, you are trusting that they won't grief you or steal any of your belongings.

Now what really makes things interesting is "power." For each member that joins a faction, that faction's "max-power" raises by how much power they have, the default power you start off with is 25. So for example, a faction with ten members will have ten times as much max-power as a faction with only one member. Each time somebody dies in your faction your power goes down by 8. If your "land" is ever above the amount of "power" you have, the chunks of the map that you have claimed can now be built on and destroyed byanyone, and other factions can reclaim your land until your power and land are equal. So for this reason it is a good idea to stay tucked away inside your home if you have been dying a lot. Your power gradually regenerates with time until is has reached "maxpower." So this system encourages you to meet new people and grow your faction so that you have more power, but forces you to also to be strategic so to keep track of your stats so you don't get caught off guard and raided by your enemies.

Speaking of enemies, it's a good idea to have as few as possible. The factions system allows you to becomes allies with other factions, remain neutral with them, or to wage war and become enemies. Allies still cannot edit each other's land, but they cannot hurt each other so you don't run the risk of accidentally killing each other. This allows you to visit each other but not have to worry about someone losing their marbles and whipping out their diamond sword and stabbing everyone. Being neutral on the other hand, means you can hurt the other faction but only when not in their territory. And finally, enemies are allowed to hurt you wherever you are but do half damage to you if you are in your own territory.
And by the way, if you're not in any faction, you can be attacked by anyone anywhere.

    Sidenotes
Only the founder of the faction and moderators that he has chosen are allowed to claim land.

Enemies show up as red in the chat.

To speak privately amongst your faction while still being able to listen in on the entire chat, you can use f chat. (to be clear, only other faction members see what you type in the chat, but you can still see what everyone else is typing)

Make sure you clain your land with /f claim
You claim land in 16x16 chunks. Once you do that, you are protected and you can promote/invite people to your faction so they get building access too.

    Restart the server, PLEASE.

I'm sorry, this has little to do with factions, but could you restart the server? The only thing you can be at is the market. And it gets claustrophobic, and boring. Is that really what you want your server to be? 'Cause right now, that's what it is.

That is your opinion. Railbait is a friendly community with factions. If you meant that it's a 'boring' server as in you want mini games and spleef. Find another server because Railbait isn't boring to a lot of other people. You don't ask the owner to restart the server because you think it's boring
    YOLO, You Obviously Lack Originality
